Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Puppy $12!

fisher price laugh and learn puppy playhouse

I was so happy when I saw the rockin’ Fisher Price printable coupons yesterday because I just started shopping for another Champions for Kids campaign.  This time it is all about couponing and All You magazine so it is time to put my skills to the test!.  Details to come later on that campaign though.

Now until 3/24 Target has the Laugh and Learn Puppy and Playhouse on price cut for $17.09!  That means you will pay $12.09 for this puppy!  Let me tell you that it is worth every penny because Michael adores this puppy!

$5.00 off Laugh & Learn Love to Play Puppy & $5.00 off Laugh & Learn Love to Play Puppy Playhouse

I also looked at Walmart to see what their prices were and it is comparable for the puppy at $17!

It didn’t tell me when this roll back would end so I don’t know for sure.  They didn’t have any of the Playhouses in stock but they were priced at $20!  I am hoping to get one of the playhouses for Michael’s birthday while they are on sale.

Great Target Baby Coupons- $5 Off Halo Sleep Sack!

target coupon

I just checked the Target coupons out and I was pleased to see a $5 off coupon when you buy a Halo sleep sack and 2 Johnson’s products!  I am in the market for a new sleep sack since my little weed has grown out of all of his swaddle sacks!

I haven’t printed it out yet but if it is a Target coupon then I can stack it with 2 Johnson’s coupons to save even more money on this purchase!  There are Johnson’s coupon in the 9/11 SS insert for .50 off!  So that would be $6 off all three of the items!

Target Clearance Finds (.24 Maternity Shirts!)

target maternity

Target is well known for their clearance and I can’t go into the store without browsing every single clearance location because you never know what gem you are going to find!  I went yesterday to pick up a deal I read on another blog and left with some fantastic finds!

Always always print off the $3 coupon for any Liz Lange apparel when you see it available on Target’s website!  Even if you aren’t pregnant you can still wear a t-shirt that is friendly in the belly region.  I was able to find two shirts in the clearance for $3.24 so with my $3 coupon they only cost me .24!  You can’t even get a price like that at The Salvation Army!  I was even lucky because they were in my size!  There were other apparel pieces in other sizes too ranging in $1.50 – $10 so keep your eyes peeled.

I was amazed to find these two frames marked down so much too!  They were $1.98 each and happen to match the decor that I am putting into the guest bedroom… eventually.  I highly doubt the guest bedroom is going to get done before this baby gets here!  My store had a ton of frames in perfect condition for dirt cheap so take a peek at your store.

Another hot coupon deal that I had to get while I was there was for two bathroom shelves/towel racks.  Target had a $10 off bathroom furnishing coupon and it made one $4.99 and the other $6.99.  If you saw our bathrooms and lack of any sort of storage you would totally understand my desire for these pieces!  They are very similar to the one pictured above.  I will slowly make things livable in this house but without breaking the budget!

My tip to you is to always leave some extra time available if you are making a trip to Target because you just never know what you will find!  Oh.. and print those high value coupons and carry them with you!

Great Deals on Liz Lange Maternity Wear at Target! #collectivebias #target

target shopping

Most women love Target in general but really love Target once they become pregnant.  Target’s clothing is a great quality compared to other like stores: Kmart and Walmart.  My Mom got me started shopping at Target since the days of Marshall Fields.  She always said it’s a sister company so their stuff is better.  I agree!

Target carries Liz Lange maternity clothes and they are priced great compared to the other maternity boutiques.  I personally love Macy’s but I can’t bring myself to shop for maternity clothes there because some shirts will cost me $30!  No way Jose.  But on the reverse side if you go to some resale shops or Goodwill type stores you end up looking like a cow in a moo moo because they fashions are so outdated!  No Joke.. I made the mistake of trying some out.  Worse choice ever!

Target has a huge selection of clothing for women, a pretty decent selection of clothing for children and the typical male selection.  Sorry guys but you are just simple minded and don’t need as many choices!  :)

Being a frugal minded person I ALWAYS start in the clearance section!  They even point it out for us so we know where the deals are!  Now maternity clothing usually has a small section compared to everything else just because we are a smaller group of people.  Even though it is a smaller selection you can still find some nice finds in the clearance if you take the time to dig through all of the racks!

  • Frugal Tip 1: register with Target for your registry and snag your baby welcome kit.  When I got mine it had a 20% off Liz Lange coupon in it along with other samples and Target coupons!
  • Frugal Tip 2: Watch Target.com for their in store coupons.  I once saw one for $3 off Liz Lange!  Not to mention some great ones for regular clothes and accessories!  I have even gotten a $3 catalina when I bought some Liz Lange clothes!
  • Frugal Tip 3: ALWAYS check the clearance!

These two dresses are probably going to end up being my baby shower dresses because they are in two weeks!  There was a nice black nice on sale too but black is so … blah.  We are pregnant and EVERYONE stares at your belly so we may as well wear a bold color!  Or maybe a dress that says: yes I’m pregnant, I am due 7/23/11, I am NOT learning the sex of the baby, yes I am incredibly uncomfortable and I have gained 15 pounds.  :)

So for $12.48 each I think these will work just fine!  The fabric was very light and airy and it didn’t hug anything that shouldn’t be hugged right now.  I love that they tie in the front because there is no way that I would be reaching behind me to tie anything!  The tie breaks up my breast area and the belly area so it doesn’t meld all together.

You know that Target has fantastic deals on things you use everyday: food, health and beauty, paper products etc.  I have even used their pharmacy before all because they published a coupon for a $10 gift card for transferring my prescription!  So long as your insurance has Target as a participating pharmacy it is worth checking out!

For our wedding we registered at Target & Macy’s and 80% of our gifts came from Target.  For our baby we have registered at Target & Babies R Us and I am sure that we will see a similar percentage.  I think it just boils down to people shop at Target because it’s convenient for them and the stuff is nice.  A lot of people have a lesser opinion of Walmart and would default to Target automatically.  Or maybe that is just my friends?!

If you are doing a registry at Target make sure you add some things by shopping online too!  There are sooo many more options on their site!  And being a Mommy who isn’t finding out the sex of the baby I appreciate the amount of unisex items.  It is actually very comparable to Babies R Us and that is a store all for babies.  The majority of our registry items are from Target because their prices are WAY better than Babies R Us.

You can see my full shopping experience and see everything I found in my Moment below!  (including my favorite outfit of this trip!)

Disclosure: This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Shopping Tips & Coupon Policies

As I get things together to start my getting started coupon series I thought you would like to get an idea of what to expect while shopping at these stores.  This is to serve as an outline to help aid your shopping trips but I highly recommend printing out their coupon policies and carrying them with you.  You will look more educated if you are familiar with the rules of each store and you will have the actual corporate policy that they are to honor.

Store Coupon Policies to Print

Rite Aid Tip

Be sure if you are shopping at Rite Aid to watch your videos for the extra video value coupons.  These are coupons that are stackable with other manufacturer coupons while shopping at Rite Aid.  You can create or log into your account through this link.

Rite Aid also has their own rebate program called Single Check Rebates, SCR.  Rebates are a great way to score some fabulous deals!  Make sure you also sign up for their loyalty card, Wellness Program.  If you haven’t already signed up yet you can through this link.

VGs Tip

If you are shopping at VG’s then you will want to make sure you have signed up for their Yes card which is their loyalty card.  You can sign up for a card in store and register yours online through this link to start earning points.  You can earn up to 150 points per week and you can redeem these points for free grocery items at their store.  When you register your Yes card you can also pick 2 schools that would benefit from your purchases.   There weren’t any schools in my area that participate though.

VGs is also doubling $1 coupons at all of their locations!  The also have a .05 bag credit so bring in your bags!

Meijer Tip

If you are shopping at Meijer you should know about the mPerks electronic coupon program as well as their mealbox coupon program.  You can find mealbox coupons through this link.  Mealbox coupons can be stacked with regular manufacturer coupons and there isn’t a limit on how many you can use per transaction.  Mealbox coupons are printable and can’t be combined with the mPerks coupons.

You can sign up for Meijer’s digital coupons, mPerks, through this link.  These will be connected to your mobile phone and you just input your number at checkout.  You do have a limit of 80 digital coupons that you can load so I wouldn’t go through and add every coupon they are offering.  They even offer coupons on produce so you can get some fresh veggies at a discount!  Be sure to check in every Monday because they refresh coupons weekly to remove the expired ones and add new ones.

Meijer will double 2 of the same coupons up to .50.

Kroger Tip

Make sure to sign up for the Kroger card in store at the customer service desk.  When you get your card you can go home and load digital coupons to it through Cellfire or right on Kroger’s site.  These digital coupons may prevent you from using a paper coupon on an item because you are only allowed one coupon per item.

You can also set up your Kroger card to donate to a charity!  For example: I have my card connected to donate to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  You will also earn fuel points on your card that you can redeem at Shell stations to save money on gas.

My Kroger will double coupons up to $1 but the stores in Oakland County DO NOT.  The also have a .05 bag credit so bring in your bags!

Target Tip

Target allows you to stack a Target coupon with a manufacturer coupon on an item.  You can print Target coupons straight from their website or using their mobile coupons right from your phone.  The also have a .05 bag credit so bring in your bags!

Don’t forget that you can also earn 5% off your purchase by using your Target card.  This is NOT a good idea if you don’t make a habit out of paying your balance before the bill comes.  The small savings isn’t worth digging yourself into a hole of credit card debt.

Walgreens Tip

Walgreens has a program called Register Rewards, RR.  These rewards print out at the end of your transaction and can be used on future purchases.  RRs are viewed as a coupon to the register and you are only allowed one coupon per item in your transaction.  You will want to add a small item to your purchase to prevent the beeping of the register.  You can always find .33 candies at the register if need be.

You are not able to ‘roll’ RRs from one deal into another of the same.  For example: if I get $4 RR for buying a razor I would not want to use that RR coupon on another purchase of a razor.  If I do that another RR coupon for $4 WILL NOT print out.  It is always beneficial to stagger transactions if you want multiple items (buy a razor in the first then buy another RR deal in the second and so on)

You are allowed to stack Walgreen’s coupons with manufacturer coupons.  You also will only need to give them one Walgreen’s coupon per transaction and it will take of the coupon value for each of the items in your transaction.  So if I am buying 4 packs of diapers and I have a $2 coupon it would deduct $8 on this order.

My Target Trip- (Deals on Diapers, Maternity Wear, Baby Socks, etc)

Huggies

Target is usually pretty good to me when I venture into the store.  I love it and I have neglected it for a while.  I got a heads up on some clearance maternity clothes and decided to check out the selection at my store!

Right now there is a sale running on Huggies diapers for $2/16 but the kicker is that only size 1 will get you the $3.50 diapers!  Size 1 diapers are the only size that have 48+ in them and that is a restriction of the coupon.

There is a printable coupon for $2 off any swim wear at Target so I found a good deal on some bottoms that I will mix and match.  I am a sucker for a polka dot!  The purple ones only cost $2.56 after my $2 coupon and the yellow ones were $5!  I did find another bottom set that would have only cost $1.81 after the coupon and plenty of cheap tops but I liked these the best.  That’s a steal if you are a mix and matcher like me.

Another hot coupon on Target’s site is for $1 off Chirco apparel!  There was a whole endcap of $1 socks that you could pick up for free!  My choices were pretty limited as you can see so I went with a white and a red.  The other colors just aren’t safe until we know the sex.  I also found some clearance clothes for Chirco that would have made for $2 shirts!

I know the Winter season is almost over but if you work with a shelter or donate to a group working with less fortunate people you would appreciate this.  Target has their gloves on clearance for .37!  At that price I would stock up for next season because that is really cheap!

Boy was I happy to see this clearance find!  Of course I printed off the $1 coupon for Hanes apparel before I went to the store because that is the only time Michael gets new under shirts.  Those things are so expensive and he goes through them like crazy!  I swear he only ‘likes’ about 10 of them in his drawer because of this or that reason!  So I found a 5 pack on sale from $10 to $7 and I was able to use the $1 coupon!  Happy Birthday Michael :)

I just couldn’t pass up this clearance find either for Hanes!  They had a 6 pack of socks on sale for $4.51 and I was able to use the $1 printable coupon with it!  I hate tall socks but I told one of Michael’s friends that I would get him new socks for Christmas and he will be coming downstate for Easter.  So spending $3.51 on his present is well worth it to me.

I actually found a great find in my household section too that will work just fine for part of Michael’s birthday present!  (Keep in mind his present is the shirts, this frame and some cashews because we don’t buy each other presents.)  I couldn’t pass it up for the minimal $2.48 that it cost me!

I picked up two maternity shirts while I was there as well so I could take advantage of the $3 printable coupon.  There were plenty of choices if you spent the time to dig through the clearance clothes!  I settled on a long sleeve and a short sleeve because they were the biggest bang for my buck.  The short sleeve only cost me $1.98 and the other $4 which is just as good as heading over to the Salvation Army!  Then at the register a $3 catalina printed out for more maternity wear!  So hopefully that blue shirt I put back is still there when I go back into the store!

I also got a catalina for $1 off Huggies wipes which can be stacked with the .50 Huggies wipes coupon from 3/20.  And another catalina for $3 Huggies diapers 112+ ct.

See Me Shop #Target This Week! ($1.26 Trip!!!)

target

Oh boy am I happy with my Target shop today!  I was able to take advantage of the Olay gift card deal and the Olay mail in rebate I told you about earlier.  I spent $56.26 and qualified for the $20 mail in rebate and earned $35 in Target gift cards!  If you do the math that means my total will be $1.26 after the rebate gets here! ***Squealing a bit inside***

The Olay gift card deal is for a $5 gift card when you purchase two participating items.  We were on our last bottle of face wash from the last Target and Olay deal so this was beyond perfect timing!  Here are some of the cheaper items I used in my transaction:

  • Toner $2.84
  • Facial Wash $3.50
  • Foaming Facial Wash $3.50
  • Definity Facial Wash $4.45

The bonus for the Olay deal is that you don’t need coupons to make this a phenomenal deal!  I forgot *gasp* to get extra papers on 10/31 so I only had two $1 Olay cleanser coupons to use for the transaction.  If you want to break up the transactions and use the $5 gift card for the next order and so one you can but make sure if you are using coupons you need to have extra items to absorb the coupon’s value like I outlined in this post.

I used 2 bag credits and put the balance on my Target card for 5% extra off.  I always pay this off the following week so I know I am responsible enough to take advantage of this offer.  Please don’t do it if you don’t think you can make your payment very soon or put the money away right after your trip to Target so you know you will have it.

So I purchased:

  • 2 Similac Formulas $3.86
  • 2 Renuzit Adjustables .94
  • 3 boxes of Fiber Plus bars $2.69
    • Used (3) $2 printable coupons (no longer available)
  • 2 Nivea for Men body wash $3.99
  • 2 Tide trial size .97
    • Used (2) $1 coupons from 10/31 PG
  • 2 Olay trial size soaps .97
    • Used (2) $1 coupons from 10/31 PG
  • 6 Reach floss .97
  • Olay Ribbons body wash $5.04 + trial Secret .97
    • Used $5 coupon from 10/31 PG

My #Target Trip This Week + Deal Breakdown

target trip

So I decided to brave Target this week despite complaints of coupon problems.  I ended up spending $19.60 on everything pictured above + a $5 gift card for the future so really $14.60.  The coupon to product match up is beneath the highlights of some findings below.  I only had two reusable bags with me so that was .10 off and I put it on my Target Red card which gave me 5% off (about $1).  Please don’t put it on your Target card if you aren’t going to pay it off before the interest hits because that defeats the savings.  :)

I did mention that you would be able to get free Meow Mix Market Selects at Meijer this week with the $1/2 from the 9/26 RP insert.  Well you can get them at Target for free too and if you want to be technical they are about .03 cheaper at Target.

I had to share this deal on Axe just because of the BOGO coupon this the paper this past weekend.  The double packs are priced at $5.39 and you can use the BOGO coupon to get 2 twin packs or 4 bottles for $5.39.  So if this is the body wash of choice for your household you will pay about $1.30 each.

Nivea for Men body wash is priced at $3.99 for the cool and energy types so if you use the $3 coupon from the 10/17 RP you will walk away with it for .99.  I believe you can grab it for free at Walmart depending on your store’s prices.

Schick Hydro razors were advertised in the ad for $7.49 with a $5 gift card when you buy 2 razors.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the 3 blade razor priced at $6.99 versus $7.49 so that makes the deal that much better!  You can walk away with two razors (after gift card) for .98!!!  If you want the Hydro 5 blade razors you would just add $1 which is still a really good deal on these razors.

*NOTE* I have read from many sources how to get past that dreaded coupon and gift card problem I had before I stopped shopping at Target.  The problem was happening when I was just purchasing the two razors while using two coupons and getting a gift card as a result of the purchase.  The register was adjusting my $4 coupon to <<.98>> which clearly wasn’t correct.  You can’t make the purchase unless you have enough in the purchase to cover the gift card total as well.  In my case it was the $5 in addition to the razor purchase.  Just keep that in mind if you are doing a gift card deal that involves coupons!

There is an unadvertised gift card deal that I stumbled upon since I walk up and down every aisle, too bad the money making sizes were all sold out!  There is a $1 printable coupon on Target’s site that will stack with the $1 coupon found in the 10/10 SS insert and when you buy 2 you earn a $5 gift card!

If you buy two at $3.79 – (2) $1 Target Coupons and – (2) $1 coupons you would pay $3.58 and get a $5 gift card!

If you buy two at $4.49 – (2) $1 Target coupons and – (2) $1 coupons you would pay $4.98 and get a $5 gift card which is still free!

If you buy two at $6.54 – (2) $1 Target coupons and (2) $1 coupons you would pay $4.08.

Shopping Breakdown:

2 Schick Razors @ $6.99 – (2) $4 coupons from the 10/03 SS
10 Meow Mix Market Selects @ .45 – (5) $1/2 coupons from the 9/26 RP
2 Reveal lightbulbs @ $2 – (2) $1 coupons from the 10/03 SS
2 Similac formulas @ $3 – (2) $3 printable coupons
10 Basic paper towels @ .99 – (5) $1/2 coupons from the 9/26 PG
5 travel Tides @ .97 – (5) $1 coupons from the 9/26 PG
5 travel Shouts @ .89 – (5) .55 coupons from the 9/26 SS

What Items Will ONLY Buy at #Target?

So this post is piggy backing on the previous post about the 4 things not to buy at Target.  I personally don’t like buying my groceries at Target because I would rather go to an actual grocery store or farmer’s market.  I tried to purchase produce at Target once and I wasn’t happy with the quality of the product so I will just stick with the other stores until we move and I can have my garden again!

So what products are a must buy at Target for you?

Here are 4 reasons I love Target!

  • I love Target and their printable store coupons that stack with manufacturer coupons!
  • I love the quality you get for the price you pay for their items.
  • I love the hip designs and the ever evolving product lines
  • I love the variety of products available at Target

So Money Watch broke down 4 things you should be buying at Target versus other stores out there.  Here is the link to their article if you want to read the full post.

The Kindle:

If you’re tempted to buy the popular e-book reader from Amazon, but want to try it out first and perhaps compare it to Barnes & Noble’s Nook, Target is the place to go: It’s the only national brick-and-mortar retailer to carry it. The brand new Kindle 3, which is smaller and lighter than previous models, will sell for $189 at Target, the same price as atAmazon.com. “Look someone up in the store who knows how to work the device, so you can get a feel for it,” suggests James McQuivey, a media technology research analyst at Forrester Research. If you’ve never seen someone use it, it can be a little bit tricky to figure out on your own.

Green Cleaning Products:

When it comes to the burgeoning category of environmentally friendly cleaning and washing products, Target is tough to beat. Target was the first national retailer to carry the Method line of cleaners, which have built a cult following for their attractive packaging and all-natural ingredients, and it currently stocks more Method products (about 70) than any other big-box store. In addition, if you like niche brands of natural cleaning products such as J.R. Watkins Apothecary, Mrs. Meyer’s, and Seventh Generation, you can get them at Target too — as well as hard-to-find, green versions of mainstream products such as Tide Coldwater Free, which works with high-efficiency washing machines and is made without dyes and perfumes. “They are definitely there first before Walmart on these types of products,” says Sapna Shah, a principal at research firm Retail Eye Partners.

Groceries:

As part of its effort to bounce back from the recession, Target is rolling out an expanded grocery section, going head to head with Walmart and Kmart, which have already beefed up their fresh-food sections. Target’s new PFresh section, which sells a decent assortment of perishables such as meat, fruit, fresh produce, and baked goods, finally makes it possible to pick up the fixings for a complete meal while you are at Target shopping for other things. “It has about 70 percent of the things you would find in a full grocery store, and prices are going to be 10 to 20 percent less than at a typical grocery,” says Colin McGranahan, an analyst with Bernstein Research.

In addition, kids’ snacks such as granola bars and juices can be significantly cheaper at Target than at other big retailers and drugstores, and you can often save more money by registering on Target’s site to have coupons delivered to your smart phone, according to Stephanie Nelson, founder of CouponMom.com.

Cosmetics:

Target’s selection of cosmetics and bath and body products has traditionally lagged behind CVS and Walgreen, says Jim Joseph, president of Lippe Taylor, a brand communications firm in New York City that has worked for clients whose products sell at Target. But recently the retailer has extended its cheap chic strategy to carry more designer cosmetics with quality and selections comparable to more expensive department store brands. Recent offerings in this vein include lines from Napoleon Perdis, Petra Strand, and Jemma Kidd. Target is also a good source for hard-to-find makeup brands, such as the U.K.’s Boots beauty products and Iman Cosmetics, a makeup line for women of color, says Kathryn Finney, founder of The Budget Fashionista.
