Free Got2b at Walgreens!

got2b products

I stumbled across a nice find today at Walgreens!  Their Got2b products are on sale b1g1 and priced at $5.99 until 2/25/12.  Here is how you will score free products!

Buy 2 products $5.99
Use (2) $3 coupons from 2/12 RP
= FREE

You will have to have your second coupon adjusted down to $2.99 or it will beep because it is a penny in overage.  Now you might run into a problem like I did at one store I went to so having your coupon policy is a very good idea.  Luckily I have a smartphone and could pull it up electronically.  You can find the Walgreens Coupon Policy online to print.

$5 Off Store Brand Formula + Walgreens Deal

store brand formula

I had no idea that there was a site dedicated to providing us with a $5 coupon for store brand formulas! Store brand formulas are a good way to save money on formula and a lot of Moms that I know use them.  The most popular would be Walmart’s Parent’s Choice formula.

Unless you are getting a stellar deal on your name brand formula then you are paying almost double!  We feed Gerber and are normally paying $15-20 a jug depending on the sale.

You can pick from:

  • Cub Foods
  • CVS
  • Kroger
  • Meijer
  • Rite Aid
  • Walgreens

Print your $5 store brand formula for Walgreens and score a fantastic deal!  This week their store brand formula is b1g50% off!  I looked online and it is priced at $15.99.

1st Formula $15.99
2nd Formula $8
= $23.99
Use (2) $5 printables
OOP $13.99 or $7 each!!

Thanks Hip2Save!

Walgreens Cottonelle Deal & Diapers

Here are my favorite deals at Walgreens this week.  You can see the full ad through this link.

Shopping tips:

    • Walgreens has a program called Register Rewards, RR.  These rewards print out at the end of your transaction and can be used on future purchases.  RRs are viewed as a coupon to the register and you are only allowed one coupon per item in your transaction.  You will want to add a small item to your purchase to prevent the beeping of the register.  You can always find .33 candies at the register if need be.
    • You are not able to ‘roll’ RRs from one deal into another of the same.  For example: if I get $4 RR for buying a razor I would not want to use that RR coupon on another purchase of a razor.  If I do that another RR coupon for $4 WILL NOT print out.  It is always beneficial to stagger transactions if you want multiple items (buy a razor in the first then buy another RR deal in the second and so on)
    • You are allowed to stack Walgreen’s coupons with manufacturer coupons.  You also will only need to give them one Walgreen’s coupon per transaction and it will take of the coupon value for each of the items in your transaction.  So if I am buying 4 packs of diapers and I have a $2 coupon it would deduct $8 on this order.

I just wanted to highlight two deals at Walgreens this week because diapers and toilet paper are rarely on sale enough to mention.  Really this is the perfect post for any pregnant woman because you pee a ton and need to stock up on diapers!  :)

2 Cottonelle Ultra packs $10
Use $1 Walgreens coupon book coupon (-$2)
Stack with .75 from 9/11 SS
OOP $6.50
Get back $3 RR
Final Total $3.50 for two!

Huggies Jumbo Pack $9.49
Use $2 coupon mailer
OOP $7.49
Get back $2.50 RR
Final Total = $4.99

My Walgreens Trip + My Favorite Deals

walgreens 7/18

So I did a quick trip to Walgreens this week just to grab a few things.  I don’t plan out anything as of right now because I feel like a ticking time bomb who could go into labor at any moment.

Transaction 1:

2 Mitchums $4.50
2 Notebooks .78
Paid with $5 RR
OOP = .64
Got back $4 RR
Final total = $3.36 MM

Transaction 2:

2 Dove Soap $4
1 10pk pencils .19
Paid with $4 RR
OOP = .92
Got back $4 RR
Final total = $3.08 MM

So I spent $1.56 OOP and still have $4 to go back next week.  Not too shabby I think.  That soap smells really good through the packaging too!  I also have a little start to my back to school donation shopping!

My favorite deals:

2 Mitchum deodorants $6
Use (2) .75 coupons from 6/26 SS
OOP $4.50
Got back $4 RR
Final Total = .25 each

2 Dove Men Soap 6pk $12
Use (2) $4 coupons from 6/26 RP
OOP $4
Got back $4 RR
Final Total = FREE

Milka Bars 2/$3
Use (2) $1 printables
Stack with $1/2 coupon in July coupon book
Final total = FREE

Great Fillers!

Drug Store Shopping This Week

cvs

CVS was pretty quiet this week again!  I remembered that you can print your ECBs out online so the $7.99 that I had ‘lost’ I printed out for this week!

Transaction:

Complete Solution $7.99
Balance Bar $1.69
Paid with $7.99 ECBs
OOP $2.17
Got back $10.68 in ECBs

So I ended up with a $1 profit this week because I got my $1 ECB for using my green bag tag for the 4th time.  Simple right?

This week at Rite Aid I got even more free toothpaste!  Good grief when are the toothpaste sales going to end?  I really hope you guys are staying on top of watching your video values because last month there was a $10 Accu Check Aviva one and they are on sale for $9.99.

Also when I do the few matchups really quick I use a coupon database and sometimes those coupons are regional.  So it turns out that Michigan did not get a .75 toothpaste coupon.  We actually got a $1/2 coupon so I didn’t use that.  Instead I used the $1 video values coupon to give me a $1 profit on it.

Transaction:

Accu-Chek $9.99
Crest Toothpaste $2.69
Used $10 VV coupon
Used $1 VV coupon
OOP $2.38
Submit for $2.69 SCR

Don’t forget to input your receipts so you get your rebates from Rite Aid too!  My check that is coming for last month is $25!  I also got a $3/15 survey coupon so always check the bottom of your receipt!

Not pictured: 3 cases of water

Walgreens was my favorite stop this week just because of the nursing pads and teething gel really!  It couldn’t have come at a better time really!  I was also able to cash in on my water rain check so we have some water put away for right now.

I had to go to two stores and did two transactions at each one.  I only went to two stores because I was looking for my water before the baby gets here and the first one was out of teething gel.

Transactions:

Nursing Pads $4.99
Floss $2
OOP $7.41
RRs Earned $6

Nursing Pads $4.99
Floss $2
OOP $7.41
RRs Earned $6

3 Cases of Water $5.97
Hylands Teething Gel $5
Used $1 printable coupon for gel
Paid with $8 in rewards
OOP $2.27
Earned $5 RRs

Hylands Teething Gel $5
24 pk Pencils for filler .79
Used $1 printable coupon
Paid with $4 in rewards
OOP $1.14
Earned $5 in RRs

I ended up spending $18.23 OOP but I am OK with that because of the nursing pads and water.  Not to mention the fact that I have $10 in rewards to go back.

Walgreens Shopping This Week

walgreens toothbrushes

I was so surprised to see there were still Oral B Indicator toothbrushes at the store when I went!  I figured since they were 100% free with the $2 coupon that they would be gone gone gone.  I had no desire to pick up the free male enhancement product this week so I just stuck to my free toothbrushes this week!  BORING!

I love my Husband so much because he went out Monday and got a rain check for the $1.99 cases of water.  The cases are still on sale for the rest of the week just for $2.49 now.  But of course they still are all out in all of the stores.

A very rare thing occurred while at Walgreens too!  The cashier was knowledgeable about coupons and he wasn’t all bent out of shape about them.  What a pleasure to chat with!

Transaction:

4 Oral B Indicator toothbrushes $4
1 Oral B Advantage 123 toothbrush $2.99
Used 3 $2 coupons from 7/3 PG
OOP = $1.41
Earned $1 RR for next time

My Walgreens Trip This Week

walgreens 6-20

So I knew I was going to get screwed this week at Walgreens just because I didn’t get much last week and had $20 in rewards expiring this week- Of course no good deals to be had!  Not only did this week have terrible deals and expiring rewards but I might have screwed up my money making scenarios!

Hiccup 1:

The first store I went to of course didn’t have the Applied Nutrition calcium so I just purchased the G series products.  If you buy all 3 for $3 you will get a MIR that prints out for $5.  Well I paid with a $5 RR so my total was $0 because there isn’t any tax on those items.  Well after I was in the car I started to think… am I going to be able to get the $5 MIR if they see my total at $0???  I sure hope so but the RRs ring up at Manuf Coupon so I will play the waiting game to see what rebate amount they give me.  At least I didn’t pay a cent for that transaction.

Hiccup 2:

There is a deal where you can spend $15 on select Purex, Renuzit, Angel Soft and Soft Scrub items and get a $4 RR.  So I figured I would try that out because I had $12 in RRs that expired today.  Well the Angel Soft TP is $6 apiece and the Renuzits are $1 each.  So I did purchase the full $15 but no reward printed out.  And I know not to roll like RR’s into deals or another won’t print.  I used P&G RRs from the Proglide razors on this transaction.  So I paid $1.02 for that transaction which isn’t going to break the bank but I would love to know why it didn’t print.

I was reading on another coupon forum and someone claimed that their Manager said if you used coupons and it drops below the $15 then the RR won’t print.  I really find that hard to believe but with all of this coupon policy adjusting I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

Positives

There was one good thing during my Walgreens adventure this week.  I am aware that you must honor any sale signs still up even after the sale has expired.  Well while I was in the store the Bayer deal, that expired 2 days ago, was still posted so I pulled all of the signs for them and had them give me the sale price of $2.  I still had $2 coupons so I got it for free.  Sure I won’t be able to send in for the $1 rebate but this works out better.

Make sure you stand your ground when you are doing something like that.  The one Manager was made at his stockers for leaving it up but said he would honor the $2 price for me.  He of course didn’t tell the cashier so she had no idea what I was talking about.  Then she claimed it wouldn’t work and I told her that you had to honor it regardless of how you did it.  Then she talked to another Manager and she said there isn’t a way to get the RR for the Bayer.  So I waited to have her figure that out and sure enough she came up with the solution to just mark down the Bayer to $2.

So I spent $1.02 on everything pictured above and do still have rewards left for next week so I am not completely starting over.  Week’s like this just sucks because you aren’t sure what to buy.  But I seem to go through toilet paper a lot right now so I figured it was a safe choice!

It’s a slow week in my opinion at Walgreens!  The diaper deal isn’t spectacular, I have run out of razor coupons and the TP is a little high for what I will spend.  Hopefully I don’t have too many RR’s expiring in the next few days or I will have to think of something!

    My Walgreens Trip This Week

    walgreens 6-13

This week’s trip to Walgreens was nearly an epic fail!  My store is putting in their new plan-o-gram and it is all sorts of a wreck inside.  I have no idea who’s idea was to do it during store hours because at PetSmart we always did it during the 3am shift…. idiots.

I forgot my free product coupon for my Clairol so i have to go back tomorrow too!  My head is attached but that’s about all I can say for it right now haha.

I did two transactions at one store because there wasn’t much that tickled my fancy this week so I wasn’t buying multiples.

    Transaction 1

    Schick Hydro Razor 8.99
    Bayer $3
    2 Nestle Crunch .78
    Filler Butterfinger .39
    Used (2) .35 crunch coupons
    Used $2 Bayer coupon
    Used $4 Schick coupon

Paid with $5 RR from last week
    OOP = $2.18
Will send in for the Bayer MIR and get back $1.  On the rebate form it does deduct the $2 coupon from the rebate amount.
    Got back $7 in RR

    Transaction 2

    Proglide razor 9.89
    Bayer $3
    Blistex $2
    2 Butterfingers .78
    Used $2 Bayer coupon
    Used $4 Proglide coupon

Paid with (3) $2 RR from last week
    OOP = $4.56
Will send in for the Bayer MIR of $1 in my Mom’s name.
    Got back $8 RR

So for this Walgreens trip I spent $6.74 OOP, I will send in for $2 in MIRs and I earned $15 in RRs.  When I go back for the Clairol I will spend only tax on the hair dye and earn $1 RR back since it is a free product coupon.  I just won’t be posting about that trip.  I am keeping all shopping trips transparent in hopes that it makes it easier for a new coupon person to follow along!

    My Walgreens Trip 6/6

    walgreens 6-6

Well Walgreens is a smarty for running their Proglide register reward deal again this week because new $4 coupons came out!  I am a sucker for those razors because I use them, Mike uses them and my Mom uses them so I have to stock up when there is a sale!

As you can see there is a ton of candy that I bought this week because I was trying to ditch those lame .99-2 register rewards!  They kick your hiney because they aren’t really worth much after you find a filler to use it!

I was very happy to see that the first Walgreens I went to had put up signs to say limit of 2 on the register rewards deals.  I was thinking the other day that if Walgreens had a loyalty card like CVS and Rite Aid they would run out of stock less often because those store put a limit on each account.  But hey that’s just my idea!

If you don’t see the Omega Smart vitamins on the shelf in the vitamin section take a peek on the top shelf in the Women’s section.  That is where I found mine and be sure you are grabbing the 45 ct and not the 90 ct!  The were trying to be tricky tricky today! :)

I went to two stores and did two transactions at each store.

    Transaction 1

    Omega Smart Vitamins $10
    Proglide razor $9.89
    2 Nivea for Men $7
    Sobe .99
    4 Dove candy bars 1.96

    Coupons Used
    $2 Omega printable
    $4 Proglide
    (2) $2 Nivea
    In ad coupon for Dove

Paid with $18 in register rewards
    OOP= 2.85 and 1.01 was tax!  Boo
    Got back $17.99 in rewards

    Transaction 2

    Sobe .99
    Proglide razor 9.89
    2 Nivea for Men $7
    4 filler Mars candy $1.96

    Coupons Used
    $4 Proglide
    (2) $2 Nivea
    In ad coupon for Mars

Paid with $8.50 in register rewards
    OOP = 4.35 ($1.01 of tax)
    Got back $7.99 in rewards

    Transaction 3

    Proglide razor 9.89
    2 Nivea for Men $7
    4 Walgreens candy 1.96

    Coupons Used
    $4 proglide
    (2) $2 Nivea

Paid with $3.97 in rewards (4 .99 ones barf!)
    OOP = $7.90
    Got back $7 in rewards

    Transaction 4

    Proglide razor 9.89
    2 Nivea $7
    Walgreens filler candy .49
    (2) Suggestion candy because I forgot to bring my Sobe to the register with me!! $1.38

    Coupons Used
    $4 proglide
    (2) $2 Nivea

    Paid with $10 in rewards
    OOP = $1.77
    Got back $7 in rewards

So all together I spent $16.87 at Walgreens and got back $29 in rewards for next week.  Even for the high amount I spent at Walgreens this week I still cam in under our $50 weekly budget by about $16 so I am not sweating the OOP for this store this week!

My Walgreens Trip & Updates (Fantastic Week!)

    applied nutrition

(not pictured- 2 cases of water)

OK- so getting to Walgreens right when they open is a fantastic idea because the shelf clearers haven’t gotten around to taking everything.  As always I break up my transactions to two stores and two items per store on Sunday.  I did overhear one of my Walgreens say that people are limited now to two RR deals per person per day.  I am totally cool with that so long as I can come back a different day.  She said that one person bought 12 Scunci RR deals last week.  Really 12??

I have seen that some blogs are suggesting to try and use the $5 Applied Nutrition coupon found in the June coupon book on the calcium that is on sale this week.  It doesn’t work on the calcium.  The Manager checked it out for me and said it is only valid on the two in the picture.  So be aware that this will vary from store to store.

I did find that once I opened the Applied Nutrition when I got home there is a $1 coupon so be sure to use that this week to make it $1 money maker!  There are a ton of coupons that they put in the package so I was thrilled that I opened it up when I got home!

Also, both of my stores do not carry the Crackfuls!  They are substituting Wheat Thins and Ritz crackers for the same price of $2 with a $2 RR.  There is a $1/2 printable coupon on Smartsource.com but that means you have to buy 2 = $4 – $1 coupon = $3 OOP get back $2 RR = .50 each box.  To me that isn’t worth it so save your ink and do them separate.

With the Ecotrin $1.50 coupon I had one store adjust it down to .99 and the other store let it ride at $1.50.  I even practiced honest couponing and said are you sure you don’t want to adjust that to .99 so you don’t want to get in trouble?  He said I was good to go so it gave me $1 in overage.  That was more a pain in the butt because my total was going to be $10.08 before tax and I was using a $10 RR and that brought it to $9.27 after taxes.  So I threw on a water at $1.69 (ouch) and paid .96 for everything.

So I did my two large transactions from last week and ended up with $30 in RRs to start this week off.  It was perfect because I used $15 RR on each of my first two orders which the before tax total was $15.50.  Then tax on each of those orders was .21 so I paid .71 OOP on each of my first two transactions.

    Transaction #1 & Transaction #2

    Wheat Thins $2
    Goodys Powder $1.50
    Icy Hot .99
    Calcium $10
    Ecotrin 3.49
    Coffee drink $2
Used $1 Icy Hot coupon (adjusted to .99)
Used in ad Ecotrin coupon -2.50
Used $1.50 Ecotrin coupon (adjusted to .99)
    Paid with $15 in RRs
    OOP = .71
    Earned = $16.49 RR!

    Transaction #3

    Goodys Power 1.50
    (2) Ecotrin $3.49 each
    Coffee drink $2
    Wheat Thins $2
    (2) cases of water $2.29 each
    Bottle of Aquafina Water $1.69
Used in ad Ecotrin coupon -5
    Used (2) $1.50 Ecotrin coupons
    Paid with $10 RR
    OOP = .96
    Earned = $5.50 RR

So I think this is a very good week to show the benefits of rolling your RRs each week because you decrease your OOP tremendously!  And it is also a good example of using a practical filler item to get to the total you  need to use your RRs.  In my case I bought two cases of water at a great price and we go through about a case of water each week until we get the water filter or something else to fix this nasty well water.  You could have used the paper towel deal or thrown in diapers or toilet paper depending on what YOUR household really needs.

I only spent $2.38 total and I still have $22 RRs to use on this week or next week just depending on if I head back into Walgreens for more shopping.

My Walgreens Trip & Scenarios 5/22

    walgreens 5-22

My Walgreens FINALLY got their stock back in from the sale 3 weeks ago!  Good grief!  So I was able to cash in on the rest of the freebies from that week.  I only did two transactions because I am impatient and spent $24.79 and earned $26 to go back on my next trips.  So my money maker items ended up covering the costs of tax and everything to give me a profitable trip!  I should really start breaking everything up and spending the time for small transactions!  But then again time is money and spending any amount of time standing hurts my back… damn this belly!

I picked up the Butterfingers to be my filler since they are .49 and Michael gets bummed if I don’t come home with candy.  They are normally .50 so the in ad coupon only deducts .01 but that’s OK.

The Ajax cleaner was 2 for .99 and I used the $1/2 coupon from 5/22 RP.  It did beep but the coupon states it if valid on any 2 Dynamo, Ajax, Fab or Niagra products.

Shopping Scenarios: I am showing you an initial OOP for the first transaction because I want the high value RR to cover the cost of the Little Swimmers.  If you weren’t buying the Little Swimmers I would start with the Scunci and Tone and roll those into the bigger purchase of Complete.  If you reversed these transactions and skipped the diaper purchase you would spend $6.47 OOP and earn $8 RR to go back, saving $1 OOP.

    Transaction 1

    Complete Solution 7.99
    Use $1 coupon
    OOP 6.99
    Get 8 RR

    Transaction 2

    Scunci 2
    Get 2 RR

    Huggies 6.99
    Use $2 coupon
    Stacked with $2 IVC coupon

    Tone Body wash $3.99
    Use $2 coupon

    Filler Candy .49

Pay with $8 RR from 1
    OOP = 1.47
    Get back $5 RR
