There is a fantastic deal this week at Rite Aid that you will have to work hard to get unless your store is fully stocked. I had to go to 4 different Rite Aid stores to get all of the Colgate products!
Colgate $3.50 (limit 4)
Use .75 coupons
= $2.75 oop
Get back $3.50 in Ups (.75 profit)
Colgate Toothbrushes $2.49
Get back $1.50 Ups
= .99 each
Now there is a deal where you spend $25 on Colgate, Advil and Dimetapp products and get $10 Ups that works well with the sale! (limit 4) And these items also go towards your spend $100 and get $20 total! Talk about a triple dip!
Buy 5 brushes $12.45
Buy 4 pastes $14
Get back $10 Ups for buying $25
Get back $6 Ups from the brushes
Get back $14 from the pastes
= $3.55 profit just from Up rewards!!
Don’t forget about the Colgate rebate in the 1/29 insert too! If you buy $10 of Colgate in one transaction then you can submit for a $5 rebate! I bought all of my brushes in one transaction to send in. So this ends up being a $8.55 profit after you get the rebate back!
Vaseline $2.97 (the tag says 10 oz but with 30% more the bottles are actually 13 oz) (limit 2)
Use $1 coupon from 1/29 RP
= 1.97 oop
Get back $2 Ups
This coupon DID NOT scan at all for me at the store. Thank goodness the Manager had my cashier manually put it in since it is valid on 3oz or larger. Just be patient until the light bulb clicks on and they realize to do it.
I didn’t know that the Advil advertised in the ad (buy $30 get $10) was the same at the Colgate $10 until the Ups printed out and said so. So I am going to do the Advil deal too! Buying the previous Colgate products has given me $2 towards my $30 total so that works in my favor. There is a limit of 4 deals on this one. It turned out that you only have to buy $25 and you will get a $10 UP reward!! That is way better than $30 even if you only do one rebate! I have my family members get the rebates and they just pay me the cash when the rebate comes.
There was a $10 rebate form wyb 3 participating products in the 1/29 RP. I already have $20.50 in Ups so I am really not going to pay for much oop besides tax. So this is how I am going to work it when I go today:
(please note that my ideal scenarios didn’t work because I had to go to 5 different stores to get what I wanted and then the cashier screwed up my third set and my $10 UPs didn’t print so my OOP was higher. I am more than a little cranky that she messed up my beautiful transactions but I can’t dwell on it)
You want to buy the Advil and Dimetapp products in sets of 3 really. Actually it should go: your first transaction with 3 products and your second transaction with 4 products. This way you can get 2 rebates and your rewards will print after the second transaction.
Advil Congestion $4.99
Use $2 coupon from 2/19 RP
= $2.99 oop
Children’s Advil or Dimetapp $4.99
Use $1 from 1/29 RP
= $3.99 oop
Keep in mind that you can only buy 2 Dimetapp products because it is illegal to buy a lot of cough medicine.
Think about it like this: If you didn’t start out with any Ups then you are spending $21.93 OOP for 7 products. You are then submitting for $20 in rebates and getting $10 in Ups back. It doesn’t sound like too shabby of a deal to me!
Now you might have noticed I also bought Starburst candy and I bought some Skittles to get me over the $3.50 mark so I could use my $3.50 UP rewards to pay. Those candy products are also apart of the spend $100 and get $20 UP rewards! So this Advil deal is a triple dip!!
After doing 3 groups of Advil/Colgate this is what I look like:
$30 in rebates
$10 in UP rewards being sent to me
$25.72 OOP so almost a $15 MM
And $79 towards my $100 monthly reward
I am planning on going back to get my $25 in Children’s Advil which will generate:
$10 in rebates
$10 Up rewards for Advil
$20 Up rewards for $100
This is a high OOP because of that cashier’s mistake. It should be $20 OOP + tax. If it would have been done correctly, it would have been $10 OOP + tax. So this is a large MM as well!
Here is a list to the participating products for the $100 get $20 rewards until 3/3/12.
This is how cool the Rite Aid customer service chat is!!
