Giveaway Time Again!

Anyone who follows me regularly knows I love love love making photo cards!! When the opportunity presented itself and I was given a chance to write up a review about my Shutterfly experiences and give things away to you I was stoked!
Discloser: This giveaway was sponsored by Shutterfly. This post was written by me and wasn’t edited by the sponsor. My review of the site was not influenced by any form of compensation. However, I did receive 10 cards to review as well as three sets to giveaway to my readers for reviewing their site.
It’s time to start thinking about making or buying our holiday photo cards now! Shutterfly runs some really great promotions throughout the year that I always try and take advantage of! I like the one where you can get 3 free cards and shipping is around $3.99! That is so much cheaper than buying a card at the store and they look SO much nicer! I just made some for a few thank you cards from our shower and some back around Father’s Day.

The most recent promotion that I was shocked when it arrived was for a free photo book! Shutterfly will send out account specific codes that you can only get if you are subscribed to their emails and have an account. You can tell it’s just for your account because at the bottom it will say something like ‘only intended for the account of..’. So this photo book came at the perfect time because I was able to make the scrapbook of my shower with it. And it turned out FABulous and was even a hard cover!!!

The basic rule of frugality: Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.

You can always find alternate brands that are less expensive and still work the same. Give them a shot!

I shop only during sales with coupons – my kids know better to ask for something that isn’t on sale.

Frugal living tip – only buy enough fruits and veggies for a couple of days. Yes, you may end up going to the store more than once a week, but the cost of throwing away fresh produce that is no good is far less than the gas it costs to get to the store and back.

know the stock up price for things in your area. I don’t coupon, but I still know when chicken breast are $1.77 to stock my freezer. Anything I know we will use I try to know the lowest sale price.

Coupons, Coupons, Coupons and we save all of our leftovers to combine the end of the week into a soup, casserole, or whatever mixes up well. I also do 90% of my cleaning with vinegar and baking soda rather than expensive cleaning products.

Frugal living tip–reuse whatever you can! I always save glass jars, and use them for gifts (I make baking mixes, hot chocolate mixes, and sweets for holidays). That’s just one example of reusing; there are so many more!

My frugal tip is to swap unused things with friends and family to get things you need, rather than buying new. I recently found a clothing swap in my area where I got 4 new pairs of pants in exchange for some unloved cast-offs from my closet.

I am a broke college student, so I check store match-ups online before I head out for the week. I shop on Thursdays, use coupons, and only buy what I can get that is under a dollar. My last shopping trip, I got a bunch of Sobe, pepperoni sticks and a package of hotdogs, and Kroger paid me 69 cents to carry it out.

My frugal living tip? I’ve got loads, but I guess my basic advice would be to utilize coupons and rebates, watch for sales and clearance racks, and start visiting discount stores! Thank you for the giveaway!
